Kazakhstan proposes to establish CIS interstate center for food products quality assessment

The main objectives of this center will be to harmonize national standards for food safety and to develop practical recommendations to the government of the CIS countries.

Almaty. June 7. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan proposes the CIS Advisory Council for Consumer Protection to establish an interstate center for assessment of quality of food products, which will be engaged in monitoring in the field of food security.

"We propose to create a coordinating body for monitoring and evaluation of food products in the CIS countries under the Advisory Council for Consumer Protection of the CIS. It can be called an interstate center for assessment and control of the quality of food products," Chairman of Kazakhstan Agency for Protection of Competition Bolatbek Kuandykov said, according to the Prime Minister's official website.

He noted that the main objectives of this center will be to harmonize national standards for food safety and to develop practical recommendations to the government of the CIS countries.

So, this will be the specific working body of the Advisory Council for Consumer Protection of the CIS member states.

In addition, the center will engage in research, as well as the coordination of all the centers and publication of their results.
