Kazakhstan to increase annual volume of grain production up to 20 million tons

Almaty. June 9. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to increase annual volume of grain production from 17 up to 20 million tons and to increase export potential from 8 up to 10 million tons. Vice-Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Armand Evniev, informed at the World Grain Forum in St. Petersburg, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

"The area of about 15.5 million hectares under grain crops is sown annually and totals about 17 million tons of grain. 8 million tons is exported. There a stable tendency of expansion of the areas under crops and increase of volume of grain production. Over the last 5 years the areas under crops have increased by 1.1 million hectares and volume of total grain harvest has grown by 3.8 million tons," A. Evniev informed.
