Kazakhstan to increase grain export by 1 - 2 million tons

This year, Kazakhstan plans to increase grain export by 1 - 2 million tons. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, informed in Kokshetau at the meeting on Wednesday concerning creation of food belt around Astana, the agency reports citing official mass media.

Almaty. August 20. Kazakhstan Today - This year, Kazakhstan plans to increase grain export by 1 - 2 million tons. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, informed in Kokshetau at the meeting on Wednesday concerning creation of food belt around Astana, the agency reports citing official mass media.

"This year, the southern regions of the country have had good grain harvest. We need to harvest about 4 million tons. The Northern Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Akmola areas are expected to harvest 13 - 14 million tons of crop. Therefore, export capacity of Kazakhstan this year will be more by 1 - 2 million tons," N. Nazarbayev said.
