Kazakhstan to invest in Belarus oil refining factories

Kazakhstan plans to buy an authorized capital stock of two Belarus oil refining factories - Mozyrsky and Naftan-Polymir. The Russian companies LUKOIL and Rosneft were also interested in these stocks, the agency reports citing newspaper Kommersant.

Almaty. January 22. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to buy an authorized capital stock of two Belarus oil refining factories - Mozyrsky and Naftan-Polymir. The Russian companies LUKOIL and Rosneft were also interested in these stocks, the agency reports citing newspaper Kommersant.

According to the Internet edition, "in this case, Kazakhstan can export of oil processing products to the Western Europe. In the end of 2009, the Belarus government assured that one of the factories -Naftan-Polymir will be soon privatized. Alexander Lukashenko estimated its cost at $3 billion.

Now, deliveries from Russia, which provide Belarus oil refining factories with raw materials, have been reduced by 40 % - down to 19 thousand tons a day because Belarus had paid for oil in advance under the last year's conditions with the special duty - 35.6 % (about $380 per ton). Russia demands to consider full export tariff that would lead to growth of the price up to $570 per ton.

As informed earlier, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus, Anatoly Smirnov, informed at the press conference devoted to the priorities of the presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE on January 19 that Kazakhstan is ready to deliver to the Belarus oil refining factories necessary quantity of oil.
