Kazakhstan to keep inflation within 5.7 – 7.5 %

Astana. May 10. Kazakhstan Today - In 2006 the government of Kazakhstan plans to keep inflation fluctuating within 5.7 – 7.5 %, PM Daniyal Akhmetov informed today at the plenary Majilis session.

Special attention will be given to anti-inflationary measures. The government plans to keep inflation fluctuating within 5.7 – 7.5 % in 2006 and further decreased up to 5 - 7 % in 2007 – 2008.

D. Akhmetov reminded that the government plans to provide mid-annual rate of GDP growth by 8.5 % annually in the nearest three years. "It will allow solving a strategic problem of doubling GDP growth by 2008 in comparison with 2000," he said.

GDP volume per capita in 2006 is to make $4155 and by 2008 reach $5.8 thousand.
