Kazakhstan to provide 4.7 million tons of grain in world market in 2006

Astana. September 19. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan can provide 4.7 million tons of grain in the world market in 2006. Vice President of Food Contract Corporation Saparkhan Omarov informed today at the press conference, the agency reports.

"According to the forecasts, Kazakhstan will harvest 14 million tons of grain, 4.7 million of which can be delivered to the world markets depending on the situation," S. Omarov said. It is twice as much than in 2005.

According to the Vice President of Food Corporation, the main consumers of Kazakhstan grain in 2006 will become Russia, Ukraine, CIS countries, the countries of Trans Caucasia, Iran and probably China. Last year the main consumers of Kazakhstan grain were Russia, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
