Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 5.6% over 8 months of the year

During the first six months the amount of mutual trade with Customs Union countries exceeded 13 billion US dollars.

Almaty. September 17. Kazakhstan Today - The Statistics Agency has announced that during the last 8 months Kazakhstan's GDP has grown by 5.6%, Kazakhstan Today reports.

During the first six months the amount of mutual trade with Customs Union countries exceeded 13 billion US dollars. Mineral fertilisers and metal products account for a huge share of local exports. The country mainly imports cars, equipment and chemical products. Experts noted that during the last six months of 2012 the foreign turnover of Kazakhstan increased by 17% and added up to almost 78 billion US dollars. During the reporting period Italy, China and the Netherlands were the main consumers of Kazakh produce. Russia, China and Ukraine are the main importers into Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is also developing entrepreneurship. During six months of 2012 the number of small businesses increased by 6%. The demographic situation has also changed. The population has increased by almost 140 thousand and now totals 16 million 815 thousand and 600 people.
