Kazakhstan's manufacturing sector up by 14% in H1 2013

Machine-building sector grew by 14.2%, production of other non-metallic mineral products - by 10,4%, production of basic precious and non-ferrous metals - by 6,3%, production of basic pharmaceutical products by 1.3%.

Almaty. July 25. Kazakhstan Today - In the first half of 2013, Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry excluding the metals sector grew by 14% in comparison with the same period of the last year, according to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.

Machine-building sector grew by 14.2%, production of other non-metallic mineral products - by 10,4%, production of basic precious and non-ferrous metals - by 6,3%, production of basic pharmaceutical products by 1.3%, the Prime Minister's official website reported.

The volume of production increased by 1.8%, including the mining industry - by 2.2%, manufacturing - by 1.8%.

The increase in the mining industry has been driven by increased production of metallic ores (105,9%), including non-ferrous metals (106.4%), gas (106.6%) and crude oil (101.8%).

In general, all sectors show the positive dynamics of growth, except for the steel industry due to unstable operation of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau."

The industrial growth has been achieved through the introduction of new productions. So, after updating the Industrialization Map the number of projects increased to 872.
