KZT 90 bln assigned for agro-industrial complex development in 2006

Astana. February 16. Kazakhstan Today. 91,2 billion KZT is stipulated for development of agriculture in the republic in 2006. The Minister of Agriculture Ahmetzhan Esimov informed at the board meeting today, February 16.

Minister reminded that according to the law on differentiation of powers between levels of state management, the Ministry of Agriculture transfers a number of state agricultural regulation functions to the local level regarding plant growing, protection and quarantine of plants, seed-growing, animal industry, and veterinary science.

"From this year the programs totaling 21 billion KZT will be transferred to the regional mayors," A. Esimov noted. Besides, according to the law, target transfers to local budgets for subsidizing agricultural production totaling 14.4 billion KZT are stipulated to come into force in 2006.
