Max Petroleum does not find oil at Kazakhstan well

The DOSNW-1 exploration well reached a total depth of 1,334 metres, the company said.

Almaty. September 21. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan-focused oil producer Max Petroleum Plc said a well on the Dossor North-West prospect would be plugged and abandoned after the company failed to find any producible hydrocarbons there.

According to Reuters, the DOSNW-1 exploration well reached a total depth of 1,334 metres, the company said.

The rig would now be moved to drill the Besbolek North-East exploration prospect in Block E targeting mean resources of 10 million barrels of oil, Max Petroleum said.

Shares in the company fell as much as 8 percent after the announcement. They were down 3 percent at 3.9 pence at 1222 GMT on the London Stock Exchange on Thursday.
