May inflation rate made 0.8%

Almaty. June 1. Kazakhstan Today - Inflation rate in Kazakhstan for May, 2006 made 0.8 %, from the beginning of the year – 4.5 %, Kazakhstan statistics agency informed the agency.

The market of articles of food and fruit-and-vegetable production grew by 2.2 % (potato – by 3. 9 %, fresh vegetables – 1.9 %, fruit – 1.4 %). The prices rise for bakeries and groats made 0.4 %, cereals – 2.3 %, bakeries and flour confectionery products – 0.3 %, flour – 0.2 %.

For the accounting period the price for bread has not changed. Meat and meat products price in May rose by 0.7 %, mutton – 1.8 %, beef – by 1.4 %, sausage and other meat products – 0.3 %. The prices for fowl have decreased by 1.3 %, pork – 0.4 %. Dairy products became cheaper by 1.7 % and eggs – by 2.6 %. The prices for sugar have decreased by 1.2 %.

Prices for clothes and footwear have increased by 0.5 %, household goods – by 0.3 %, personal hygiene goods – 0.2 %. Gasoline rose by 0.3 %.

Payment for public housing services grew by 4 %, cold water supply - 16 %, hot water supply – 2.7 %, water drain – 12.4 %. The prices and tariffs for central heating increased by 2.9 %, garbage collection – by 2.3 %, house maintenance – 1.6 %, gas supply – 1.1 %. Public health services rose by 0.9 %, culture and rest – by 0.4 %, restaurants and hotels – 0.2 %, education – 0.1 % and public transportation fare has not changed.

Last month in relation to May, 2005 inflation on all goods and services made 9 %.
