Microcredit to increase three fold in Kazakhstan

Almaty. December 12. Kazakhstan Today - The amount of microcredits will increase by three and a half times in Kazakhstan the next year.

According to Caspionet, the Minister of Labour and Social Security Serik Abdenov has informed that from now on the loan portfolio will contain more than 12 billion tenge during the meeting in Astana today. According to the Minister, the procedure of credit will be simplified significantly, while the requirements are to be more rigorous for borrowers. Particularly, it refers to self-employed citizens. So called, non-productive self-employed people will be able to obtain microcredit to develop themselves, and as the result to pay taxes and pension contributions.

"Currently, only two million 400 thousand from two million 700 thousand self-employed citizens are involved in the pension system. The aim of the microcredits' amendment is to assist people to get more revenue, develop themselves, pay taxes, and moreover, participate in the pension system and social insurance," said Serik Abenov, Kazakh Minister of Labour and Social Security.
