Astana. July 23. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Agriculture is developing measures to support farmers and agricultural enterprises in connection with the dry weather, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"This year all over the country there is a high temperature and lack of precipitation. The most heat registered for Kostanay, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan and Aktobe oblasts. While understanding and appreciating the consequences of this problem, we outlined a package of measures," the Prime Minister's official website quotes Eugene Aman, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to him, these measures will affect provision of seeds, possible prolongation of credits, and also measures to reduce the cost for fodder procurement is being developed.

"In 2010 we tested a number of measures that will expand this year and we will try to support businesses to minimize losses. For many peasants a serious problem is the lack of feed for livestock, so we need to prevent dumping of livestock," stressed the Executive Secretary.

Also, Eugene Aman said that the last year many agricultural enterprises have made a two-year supply of food, allowing them to easily pass through the drought, but the private farms, which does not create a rolling stock of food, need help.

"Even if these farms intend to lose livestock, we are increasing the purchase of cattle within the frameworks of Sybaga program," Eugene Aman concluded.
