Ministry of Agriculture lowered grain harvest forecast to 13.5 million tons

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has lowered its grain harvest forecast to 13.5 million tons, the agency reports citing the ministry's press service.

Astana. September 27. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has lowered its grain harvest forecast to 13.5 million tons, the agency reports citing the ministry's press service.

"Total grain harvest forecasted for this year should reach 13.5 up to 14.5 million tons. The drought during the grain-ripening period has affected a finishing stage of growth of wheat. As a result, grain harvest has been forecasted at the level of 13.5 million tons," the press service informs.

The Minister of Agriculture, Akylbek Kurishbaev, underlined that grain export forecasts from Kazakhstan will be the same - at the level of 7 - 8 million tons.
