According to Caspionet, Moody's Investors Service international rating agency has published the annual rating report on the Eurasian Development Bank, which states that its A3 long-term rating and P-2 short-term rating in the foreign currency are supported by the financial stability of the EDB. The agency noted that in terms of capital adequacy the main strength of the EDB is that its share capital is fully paid up. In this regard, Moody's noted that this is a rarity for the multilateral financial institutions.

In addition, at the end of August 2012 the capital adequacy requirements of the EDB according to Basel II are estimated at 49%, which provides significant opportunities for the financial institution to mitigate the impact of potential shocks. Moreover, the agency noted that the rigid system of risk assessment and standards collateral helped the EDB to maintain a very low volume of bad loans from the beginning of its activities. From the end of 2011 the bank's balance sheet has no balance sheet. Finally, the high level of liquid assets relative to total liabilities also has positive effect on risk levels of financial institutions.
