National Bank confirmed inflation and GDP forecasts for 2009

"The forecast remains the same - GDP growth, as a whole, will be from 0 - 1 % annual," G. Marchenko said.

"Inflation has been forecasted 9 %. Now some conditions make us reconsider it towards decrease. We will wait till August and then we will be able to reconsider it. For now, it remains 9 %," the chair of the National Bank noted.

According to the official data of the Kazakhstan Statistics Agency, inflation in June, 2009 has been 0.4 % (in June, 2008 - 1.2 %). Inflation for January - June, 2009 was 3.9 % (for January - June, 2008 - 5.7 %).

As informed earlier, according to the Minister of Economy and Budgetary Planning, Bahyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan expects economy growth in 2009 and does not plan decrease in tax load.
