New assistant akim of Western Kazakhstan oblast appointed

Birzhan Kaneshev has been appointed new assistant akim of the Western Kazakhstan oblast. Ashat Akchurin, who earlier held this post, has been dismissed from this post in connection with transition to the other work, the regional akimat informed the agency.

Uralsk. July 14. Kazakhstan Today - Birzhan Kaneshev has been appointed new assistant akim of the Western Kazakhstan oblast. Ashat Akchurin, who earlier held this post, has been dismissed from this post in connection with transition to the other work, the regional akimat informed the agency.

According to the Western Kazakhstan oblast akimat, B. Kaneshev will supervise construction, transport and communication, tariff and antimonopoly policy, road construction, extreme situations, and housing and communal services.

B. Kaneshev worked for Kazakhstan Holding of Management of State Assets Samruk as a Managing Director of the company.

In different years, he headed Committee of International Informatization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, worked as the chairman of Kazakhstan Agency for Informatization and Communication (2003 - 2004), Security Council of Kazakhstan Secretariat chairman, and the chairman of Department of Internal Policy of the president's administration (2001 - 2003). He held the posts of Vice Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, the chairman of Committee of Communication and Information of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan (1999 - 2001).

B. Kaneshev was born in 1966. He graduated from Saratov Polytechnical Institute, engineer-economist, National Higher School of Public Administration at Kazakhstan President, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management, USA.
