Oil refining volume grew by 2.9 %

Astana. August 24. Kazakhstan Today - In the I half of 2006 oil refining volume in Kazakhstan grew by 2.9 %, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources press service informed the agency.

Oil refining factories of Kazakhstan refined 5.502.000 tons of oil. Oil refining factories for the accounting period produced 1.1 million tons of gasoline that is by 3.9 % more than in 2005, diesel fuel - 1.8 million tons (more by 5.7 %), kerosene - 151.000 tons (more by 32.6 %), black oil - 1.6 million tons (less by 7.4 %).

There are three oil refining plants in Kazakhstan: the Pavlodar petrochemical factory designed capacity of which is 7.5 million tons a year, Shymkent oil refining plant (6 million tons) and Atyrau plant (4.9 million tons). 13 mini oil refining factories function in Kazakhstan.
