OPEC members increased oil extraction by 1.5 %

The members of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in May, 2009 increased oil extraction by 1.5 %, having reached the highest growth parameter since October 2007, the agency reports citing Bloomberg.

Almaty. June 2. Kazakhstan Today - The members of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in May, 2009 increased oil extraction by 1.5 %, having reached the highest growth parameter since October 2007, the agency reports citing Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg research, the average level of extraction in May amounted 28.15 million barrels per day that is by 405 thousand barrels more than a month earlier. Saudi Arabia increased oil extraction most of all - 8 million barrels per day (growth - 75 thousand barrels) and Iran - 3.78 million barrels per day (growth - 80 thousand barrels). Extraction of oil in Venezuela has decreased by 25 thousand barrels per day, up to 2.1 million barrels.
