PM urges to ensure stable operation of ArcelorMittalTemirtau
Almaty. July 17. Kazakhstan Today - On Tuesday Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov visited JSC "ArselorMittalTemirtau" during his working trip to Karaganda region.
According to the Prime Minister's official website, the Head of Government inspected reconstruction of the chimney of the oven battery number 5 and the construction of the gas treatment system of the converter number 1. Deputy executive director for the repair of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" Basin reported that "work is going according to the planned schedule." In early August, the repair will be completed, and the fifth and seventh coke batteries will work normally.
During the meeting on the activities of the company and the socio-economic development of Temirtau, Serik Akhmetov said that the well-being of the city depends on the effective and stable operation of ArcelorMittalTemirtau.
"There has been a decrease in production volumes at the plant. The main reason is the unstable operation of blast furnaces and high accident risk of equipment," Akhmetov said.
Also among the problems there were identified issues of implementation of the plan of modernization, implementation of contractual obligations, implementation of environmental measures, better policy of sales of finished products, improvement of labor relations.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed to conduct a technological audit of the company, to develop recommendations to address weaknesses and improve the efficiency of the production process.
Regarding the labor relationship Akhmetov said that today the actual number of personnel is below the established standards.
"These standards were developed by the company itself, and agreed with the trade unions, approved by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. Thus, it is impossible to reduce the number of employees.
Akhmetov also considers it necessary to carry out measures to reduce occupational injuries, make decisions on insurance payments, review the policy for the implementation of environmental measures. Focusing on the issues of social responsibility he stressed that the company should take care of the employees' welfare.
In addition, Akhmetov instructed the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies to reconsider the concept of modernization and diversification of production, taking into account the demand in the domestic market. He instructed the responsible persons to carry out a continuous and strict control to ensure stable operation of the enterprise.

Asian region has good potential to continue stimulating global growth and development in upcoming years - Tokayev
Asia is expected to ensure 60% of global GDP growth this year. The continent accounts for 53% of global trade and is home to some of the world's largest and most dynamic economies. Foreign direct investment in Asia has increased significantly in recent years. This region is also home to the world's leading technology centers which ensure 70% of patent developments. The continent has significant human resources, with 21 of the world's 30 largest cities located in Asia. Out of $30 trillion of middle class consumption growth by 2030, only $1 trillion is expected to come from Western economies. As a whole, all these factors point to the so-called "Asian Renaissance," he said.
In this regard, the Boao Forum for Asia became the embodiment of the Asian innovative approach to achieving universal economic progress. It has also proved to be an exceptional symbol of China's commitment to global development," he stressed.

Kaizen helps save raw materials and water in production
Last year, the plant underwent training on the implementation of the Kaizen lean production system," says Daniyar Kakimov, director of Ferrum Contract LLP. - We invited a trainer who taught employees the principles of Kaizen, introduced them to eight types of losses in production, and taught them how to find problem areas and quickly eliminate them. The training gave a positive result: employees learned to save raw materials, especially PET containers, glue and labels, and most importantly, water and electricity costs decreased. This saves money."
We plan to use part of the costs that QazIndustry reimbursed us for further improvement of production and technological processes, as well as for training workers and improving their competencies," shared D. Kakimov.

Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan supports the proposals of Kazakhstan designers for new approaches in the construction industry
These proposals are supported by the authorized body. Moreover, work on the first two proposals is already underway actively. We consider these proposals to be radical, timely, and well-founded" Timur Karagoyshin stated.
We support this initiative because, currently, these services not only duplicate each other but also dilute responsibility and act as a catalyst for the development of a corrupt environment" Timur Karagoyshin highlighted.
