Polyus Gold, AltynGroup reach accord on mines

Polyus Gold, Russia's biggest producer of precious metal, and AltynGroup reached agreement on the sale of KazakhGold's mines after almost a year of dispute, Kommersant reported today, citing an unidentified shareholder of the Russian company, Bloomberg reported.

Kazakhstan Today - Polyus Gold, Russia's biggest producer of precious metal, and AltynGroup reached agreement on the sale of KazakhGold's mines after almost a year of dispute, Kommersant reported today, citing an unidentified shareholder of the Russian company, Bloomberg reported.

Polyus Gold agreed to sell production units of KazakhGold that are under its control for $769 million to Kazakhstan's Assaulayev family, which owns AltynGroup. The latter agreed to pay the price in several installments and to revoke criminal allegations against top Polyus managers, according to the report.
