President of Russia signed decree on transfer of CPC share holding to Transneft

The President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, signed the decree on transfer of shares to Oil Transporting JSC Transneft to maintain control of the shares of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) purchased from Oman. The decree of July 7, 2009 №768 was published today on the official site of the Kremlin.

Almaty. July 13. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, signed the decree on transfer of shares to Oil Transporting JSC Transneft to maintain control of the shares of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) purchased from Oman. The decree of July 7, 2009 №768 was published today on the official site of the Kremlin.

According to the decree, being in the federal property, 10 thousand CPC shares (Cayman Islands, the city of Georgetown) and 10 thousand of the shares of CPC Investments Company (Cayman Islands, the city of Georgetown) will be transferred to Transneft without tenders or auctions.

Earlier, Oman possessed 7 % of CPC shares, which used to be on the balance of CPC Company and CPC Investments. In November, 2008, Russia purchased the share of Oman in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

As informed earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, suggested Russia purchasing a share of Oman in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium on parity conditions on October 30th, 2008.
