Prices for agricultural products for I half of 2008 grown by 12.7 % in Kazakhstan

Prices for agricultural products for the first half of 2008 have grown by 12.7 % in Kazakhstan, the agency reports referring to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan.

Astana. July 14. Kazakhstan Today - Prices for agricultural products for the first half of 2008 have grown by 12.7 % in Kazakhstan, the agency reports referring to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan.

According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, in June, 2008 in comparison with December, 2007 prices for agricultural products have grown by 6.2 % and animal industries - by 17.7 %.

"Sunflower seeds prices in the first half-year have increased by 19.9, peas - 13.7 %, fruit crops - by 12.1 %, and potato - by 11.5 % . Prices for vegetables increased by 19.8 %, cabbage - by 29.4 %, carrots - by 17.3 %, onion - by 13,8 %, beet - by 11.2 %, tomatoes - by 6.9 %, and decreased for cucumber by 12.5 %," the department specified.

Among grain crops in June of 2008 in comparison with December of 2007 prices for wheat have increased by 19.3 %, rye - by 19.1 %, rice - by 18.6 %, barley - by 13.5 %, corn - by 10.8 %, oats - by 10.2 %, and buckwheat and millet - by 3 - 4.2 %, Statistics Agency informed.

According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, prices for meat of all kinds for six months of 2008 have grown by 10.6 %, including horse meat - by 12.8 %, fowl - by 11.8 %, pork - by 10.8 %, beef - by 10.6 %, and mutton - by 8.1 %. Milk price has increased - by 2.5 % and honey - by 5.5 %. Prices of eggs have decreased by 9.1 %, Statistics Agency informs.

According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, price index of realization of agricultural products is characterized by variation of prices for agricultural products produced by domestic agricultural manufacturers and realized by them through various trade channels.
