Problem of external debt of banking sector solved

The problem of external debt of the banking sector has been solved. The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko, said during an online conference today, the agency reports.

Almaty. April 21. Kazakhstan Today - The problem of external debt of the banking sector has been solved. The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko, said during an online conference today, the agency reports.

"As a whole, the problem of external debt of the banking sector has been solved," G. Marchenko said.

"The cumulative external debt now amounts to $111 billion. External debt of the state is about $2 billion, the other debt of the corporate and banking sectors," he said.

He also said, "For the last 2.5 years, debt of the banking sector has decreased and now is about $28 billion. This sum will be reduced after re-structuring of the debts of BTA Bank, Temirbank and Alliance Bank by 10.5 billion."
