Quality of Kazakhstan grain needs to be improved

We need to undertake measures to improve quality of the Kazakhstan grain to raise its competitiveness in the world markets. Director of Agriculture and Fytosanitory Safety Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Anna Buts, informed during the meeting today, the agency reports.

Astana. July 9. Kazakhstan Today - We need to undertake measures to improve quality of the Kazakhstan grain to raise its competitiveness in the world markets. Director of Agriculture and Fytosanitory Safety Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Anna Buts, informed during the meeting today, the agency reports.

"Kazakhstan needs to undertake measures on improvement of quality of grain to raise its competitiveness in the world markets. Kazakhstan during this marketing year exports its grain to the countries of Transcaucasia, Central Asia, Iran, and Afghanistan and expects to compete in the market of the countries of Transcaucasia with Russian wheat, and in the market of Iran and Afghanistan - with Australia, Canada, and Pakistan," A. Buts said.

She said, "Our advantage in the world markets - high quality of grain as in this season only highly protein-rich grain can be competitive".

The head of department also has informed that, according to the International Grains Council, wheat world production in the current marketing year will total 652 million tons that is by 35 million tons less than last year.
