Rakhat plans exports to South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand
Kazakh confectionery company LOTTE Rakhat plans to begin exporting its products to South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture said.
Around 22% of the company’s total output is currently sold abroad. Russia remains its largest export market, accounting for about 65% of shipments outside Kazakhstan.
Rakhat products are also sold in Central Asia and the South Caucasus, as well as in China, Mongolia, Afghanistan and Germany. In 2026, the company began exporting to Latvia.
The company operates production facilities in Almaty and Shymkent with a combined annual capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes. Its product range includes more than 500 items.
LOTTE Rakhat is also expanding and modernising its production facilities. Over the past several years, around 19.4 billion tenge has been invested in developing production capacity and technology. More than 7.1 billion tenge of this amount was invested in the Shymkent facility, where the company is developing, among other areas, the production of wafers and corn snacks.
The company produces more than 80 varieties of chocolate bars and processes cocoa beans in-house to produce cocoa mass, cocoa butter and cocoa powder.
In June 2026, LOTTE Rakhat won the regional Best Product of Kazakhstan 2026 competition and exhibition in the Best Food Products category. The company is also certified under international ISO and HACCP standards and meets Halal requirements.
The history of the Rakhat confectionery factory dates back to 1942. In 2013, South Korea’s LOTTE Confectionery acquired a controlling stake in the company.
