Reporting schedule within Transparency Initiative realization to be presented

Almaty. August 7. Kazakhstan Today - The National Council for Implementation of the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Kazakhstan plan to approve the final schedule of the reporting for the extracting companies in the near future. Council's member Malik Isabekov told at Friday press conference in Almaty, the agency reports.

On August, 10 the first session of the working group will take place in Astana to approve the reporting forms. "The documents will be signed on August 11-12," M. Isabekov explained.

38 companies joined the Initiative of Transparency of extracting branches in Kazakhstan, including KazMunayGaz, Nelson Resources, ExxonMobil, Nations Energy , Kazakhoil Aktobe, Karakumdukmunay, JV Arman, Maersk oil, ChevronTexaco, Phillips Petroleum, Inpex North Caspian, B.N. Munay LLP, Total, Shell, BG Karachaganak, KKM, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources, Statoil, CNPC - Aktobemunaigas, Agip KCO , Lukoil Overseas Service Ltd, CNOOC, Caspian, Kazakh Turkmunay, Kazakhmys, Kazakhstan nickel and others.

212 companies working in territory of Kazakhstan have not joined the Initiative. The initiative of Transparency is voluntary, that is the companies decide whether to sign the Memorandum or not. The legislation of Kazakhstan does not allow forcing the company to sign the Memorandum as the country strictly observes principles of stability of the contracts signed with the companies.
