The situation in the banking sector of Kazakhstan, as a whole, has been improving. Vice President of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Daniyar Akishev, informed in the interview to the newspaper Kazakhstan Pravda, the agency reports.

Almaty. October 8. Kazakhstan Today - The situation in the banking sector of Kazakhstan, as a whole, has been improving. Vice President of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Daniyar Akishev, informed in the interview to the newspaper Kazakhstan Pravda, the agency reports.

"As a whole, the situation in the banking sector has been improving. The crisis has begun with the liquidity problems. We can say now that the state managed to stabilize the situation: the problem of liquidity of the banking system has been overcome. There is no threat to the payment system of Kazakhstan. People can be certain in safety of their bank deposits. They, as it is known, have been increased from 700 thousand to 5 million KZT," D. Akishev informed.

As informed earlier, according to IMF forecasts, GDP is expected to decrease by 2 % in 2009 in Kazakhstan and GDP growth in 2010 will be 2 %.
