Survey: Beauty salons' services for Kazakhstan citizens go up in price

Services of beauty salons and barber shops have costed Kazakhstan citizens 7 billion tenge for the quarter of the present year, that is by 43% higher that a year ago, Ranking.kz reports.

Men’s haircuts in Kazakhstan are cheaper than women’s ones, but the service goes up very rapidly. So, by the summer, following May, women’s model haircut throughout the country costed on average 1742 tenge, that is by 5.1% higher than a year ago; men’s haircut – 1158 tenge, by 7.2% higher than a year ago," says the report.


In general, services of barber shops and beauty salons in May have gone up in price over a month – by 0.2%, from the beginning the year – by 3%, over the year – by 7.2%.

Manicure services went up by 0.1% over the month, by 2.8% - from the beginning of the year and by 6.5% - over the year.

Over the 1st quarter of the current year, the volume of services provided to Kazakhstan citizens by barber shops and beauty salons has reached 7.2 billion tenge against 5 billion tenge in the same period a year ago (+42.9%). It is interesting that according to the official statistic, only 9% of the total services was provided in the rural area (454.2 million tenge against 448.4 million tenge a year ago).
