Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Estonia in 1H amounted to $13.2 mln

Kazakhstan has registered 54 enterprises with the participation of the Estonian capital, engaged in export-import operations, mediation, furniture, food, construction and architecture.

Astana. September 7. Kazakhstan Today - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip on Thursday, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"In 2011, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $ 63 million. For January - June, 2012 the trade turnover amounted to $13.2 million," the Presidential press service informed.

Kazakhstan has registered 54 enterprises with the participation of the Estonian capital, engaged in export-import operations, mediation, furniture, food, construction and architecture. Since 2001 to early 2012 the gross inflow of direct investments from Estonia to Kazakhstan amounted to $45.7 million, including the I quarter of 2012 - $ 28.9 million.

During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Estonia, and has expressed interest in a mutually beneficial and dynamic cooperation between the two countries.

The President drew attention to the fact that last year the economic growth in both countries was over 7%, and invited the Estonian companies to take an active part in the cooperation with the Kazakhstan business.

"The Kazakh-Estonian business forum is taking place right now. From my part, I fully support all the initiatives that are aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries. We are actively implementing an industrial and innovative program, building factories, and to using high technology from Western countries. Due to dynamic development of the economy and favorable macroeconomic indicators, Kazakhstan has the capacity to invest in various projects abroad," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Estonian Prime Minister thanked Nazarbayev for his warm welcome and stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation. Ansip also noted prospects for intensifying relations in various sectors.
