Up to 80 thousand tenges spent by each Kazakhstan citizen in markets in June - survey

That is by nine thousand tenges higher than a year ago.
Over June the population officially spent 857.8 billion tenges in markets and bazaars of Kazakhstan - by 5% higher than in May, and by 14.2% higher that a year ago, Ranking.kz reports.

The largest volume of the retail trade was observed in Astana (110.4 billion tenges) and in Almaty (245.2 billion tenges) - 41.5% of the total share of the country.

The average check per urban citizen was 82 thousand tenges in June, that is by 3.9 thousand more than in May, and by 9.3 thousand tenges more than a year ago.

The largest spending was observed among Almaty citizens (135 thousand tenges, +17.1 thousand tenges over the year), citizens of Aktobe region (129.7 thousand tenges, +12.6 thousand tenges over the year) and Astana citizens (106.2 thousand tenges, +9.3 thousand tenges over the year).

The rural area has on average only 7-8% of the offcial retail trade, therefore when calculating the average check the urban population of Kazakhstan is taken into account.

We note that the prices on the retail market increased in June by 0.2% of the May prices, and by 5.9% year-by-year. The biggest increase in prices were seen for non-food products - by 8.8% over the year.
