USAID, Center of Development of Commercial Policy held consultations concerning intellectual property rights

During the limits of joint cooperation the joint-stock company Center of Development of Commercial Policy at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the USA Agency for International Development (USAID) held consultations concerning intellectual property rights on September 18-21 of 2007, Industry Ministry of Kazakhstan press service informed the agency.

Kazakhstan Today - During the limits of joint cooperation the joint-stock company Center of Development of Commercial Policy at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the USA Agency for International Development (USAID) held consultations concerning intellectual property rights on September 18-21 of 2007, Industry Ministry of Kazakhstan press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, "consultations were held between the expert of the department of multilateral agreements of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Marina Sirotina and the USAID independent expert in the field of protection of intellectual property rights Naylya Djayzafarova." "During consultations the experts have considered such issues, as development of the bill on amendment and additions to the law of Kazakhstan on trade marks, service marks and names of places of the origin of the goods and other questions in the field of intellectual property rights," the press release widespread on Monday states.

The main purpose of the action was "bringing the specified law in conformity with the WTO Agreement on trading aspects of intellectual property rights."

The Company Center of Development of Commercial Policy was created in June, 2006 at the Industry and Commerce Ministry by the government of Kazakhstan with a view of analytical maintenance of negotiations on introduction of Kazakhstan to WTO.
