Volume of retail trade in January - April, 2009 reduced by 5.2 %

Volume of retail trade in comparison with the corresponding accounting period of the last year reduced by 5.2 % in Kazakhstan in January - April, 2009, the monthly report of Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informs.

Astana. May 25. Kazakhstan Today - Volume of retail trade in comparison with the corresponding accounting period of the last year reduced by 5.2 % in Kazakhstan in January - April, 2009, the monthly report of Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informs.

"Volume of retail trade in January - April, 2009 in comparison with the similar period of 2008 has reduced by 5.2 %. Reduction of commodity circulation is caused by decrease in sales volumes of the trading enterprises (by 9.2 %), the share of which in this turnover has totaled 54.7 %," statistical report states.

"According to inspection of medium and large trading enterprises, Kazakhstan share continues to prevail in the articles of food (60 % up to 90 %). Non-food goods are basically presented by import production (pharmaceutical goods - more than 80 %, washing, cleaning detergents - 90 %)," the department specifies.
