World prices for oil decreased on August 31

The world prices for oil, following the results of the tenders on Tuesday, August 31, decreased due to the expected increase of stocks of oil in the USA and the negative statistical data of the American economy published the day before.

Almaty. September 1. Kazakhstan Today - The world prices for oil, following the results of the tenders on Tuesday, August 31, decreased because of expected increase of stocks of oil in the USA and the negative statistical data of the American economy published the day before.

The official price of the October futures contract (settlement) of the North Sea oil of Brent Crude oil at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) during the last trading day decreased from $76.60 to $74.64 per barrel.

The official price of the October futures contract (settlement) of delivery of Light Sweet Crude oil (WTI) at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) during the last trading day decreased from $74.70 to $71.92 per barrel.

The price of OPEC oil basket (OPEC Reference Basket of crudes) increased on August 30 from $72.36 to $73.05 per barrel. In August, 2010, the average price of OPEC oil amounted to $74.24 per barrel.
