Astana. 12 June. Kazakhstan Today - In 2017, the growth of processed exports will recover, as last year there was a decline in a number of industries in the field of chemistry, mineral products. This was stated by Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek said during a meeting with the population in Astana.

At the same time, the Minister explained the reason why the volume of exports decreased.

"There has been some decline in a number of industries, such as chemistry, mineral products. But I would like to make a reservation that this decline was due to the fall in world prices. For example, we exported copper more by 48 thousand tons last year compared to 2015. This is 13% more but in money export earnings fell by 95 billion dollars. Export of aluminum grew by 15 thousand tons, however, there is also a decrease. Although the volume of exports is growing but last year a negative price background", Zh. Kassymbek explained.

According to the Minister, in this regard, the work to implement agreements on entering the markets of Russia, China, Iran, Turkey and European countries was strengthened.

"As a result, exports of finished products such as electrical equipment, finished metal products will be increased. For example, the volume of finished metal products increased by 26%, electrical engineering - by 12%. To strengthen this work this year, the National Export Council under the Government of Kazakhstan was established and it functions. And also, on the basis of "KazExportGarant" a specialized national company "KazakhExport" was established. In general, we believe that 2017 will be a year of restoration of the growth of processed exports", the Minister said.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan exports more than a thousand commodity items to 123 countries. In 2016, exports in the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.9 billion dollars

Also, one of the important tasks of the Ministry is to improve the investment climate in accordance with international standards. As noted by Zh. Kassymbek, this year the OECD experts have completed the second review of Kazakhstan's investment policy.

"Based on the recommendation of the second review, it is planned to introduce an addition, a detailed plan for improving the investment climate. This will allow Kazakhstan to consistently implement the advanced standards of the member countries of the OECD and attract large investors", the Minister said.
