72 people died as a result of earthquake in Kyrgyzstan - Ministry of Health
Bishkek. October 7. Kazakhstan Today - According to all available information, 72 people died in Kyrgyzstan as a result of the earthquake, the agency reports referring to Vice Minister of Public Health Services of Kyrgyzstan, Madamin Karatayev.
"38 people have been evacuated, 14 from them are in village Sarytash of the Osh oblast. The others have been taken to the Osh regional clinical hospital. Search and rescue works have been proceeding in the zone of disaster. Special flight delivered tents, heaters, diesel oil and medicine," M. Karatayev informed.
According to the Emergency Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, village Nura (where there was the epicenter of the earthquake) in Alay region of the Osh oblast has been practically completely destroyed.
"Now those who have received the heaviest wounds are being transported to the helicopter. All of them will be hospitalized to hospitals of the city of Osh and then the helicopter will return to the zone of disaster for the remaining injured people," K. Tashiev said.

Second wave of floods hits N Kazakhstan region
Due to the second wave of flooding, water level rose again with the overflow at 278 centimeters having increased by 21 centimeters," Kanat Duzelbayev said.
A number of villages in Kyzylzhar district and micro-districts Podgora, Kozhevenny, Zarechny, Kossogor are still under water, with 2,886 residential buildings affected by the flood. All of them are provided with meals and essential supplies. 149 families have already received lump-sum social payment. 470 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the region from Astana, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, and Akmola regions, as well as from Russia’s Omsk," said Duzelbayev.
