According to the Russian service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a 4 magnitude earthquake occurred on the Japanese island Honshu. The tremors were felt in seven out of 47 Japanese prefectures, including the capital. The number of casualties and destructions has not been reported yet.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred on the island New Ireland, in Papua - New Guinea.

According to RIA RosBusinessConsulting, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit the north of Chile. According to the Seismological Centre of the Chilean University, the epicenter was approximately in 2 thousand kilometers to the north from the country capital - Santiago.
