Astana. September 8. Kazakhstan Today - European Union begins the new project on maintenance of transparency of environmental protection programs and public participation in these programs, the agency reports referring to the message widespread by the department of press and information of the EU commission representation.
According to the message, the system of ecological planning at local level in three pilot zones (the cities of Aktobe, Almaty and Tekeli) with the maximum involvement of local population will be developed within the project.
The actions will help to expand participation of citizens in solution of environmental problems and will raise efficiency of the state ecological programs. The group of local and European experts will hold analysis of the basic environmental problems in the pilot zones connected with the environmental condition and will be involved in creation of electronic cards and formation of brigades of public monitoring.
