Number of victims in earthquake in Haiti exceeded 200 thousand people
Almaty. February 3. Kazakhstan Today - The number of victims of the earthquake in Haiti has exceeded 200 thousand people. The Prime Minister of the Republic informed, the agency reports citing Vesti.Ru.
To count an exact number of victims will be possible later - the island is in ruins. In the meantime, the inhabitants of Port-au-Prince are besieging the government building. Three weeks passed after the earthquake and the authorities still could not provide the population with time refuges and organize distribution of humanitarian help.
Physicians warn about threat of epidemic and carry out scale vaccination, first of all of children. Doctors also call for resolute struggle against insanitary conditions, television channel Russia 24 informed.
As informed earlier, Haiti was hit by a series of earthquakes, the strongest of which was 7 points under the Richter scale, on January 13, 2010. The earthquake has destroyed many buildings in Port-au-Prince. As of January 23, the number of victims of the earthquake has reached 200 thousand people.
