West of China struck 6.8 magnitude earthquake

Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China struck strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, the agency reports referring to ITAR-TASS.

Almaty. October 7. Kazakhstan Today - Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China struck strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, the agency reports referring to ITAR-TASS.

According to Chinese Seismological Service, the epicenter of the earthquake was in district Utsa, in 180 kilometers to the West from the cities of Kashgars (Kashi), on the joint of border with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

After the main earthquake seismologists registered one more 5.7 magnitude tremor.
