1st C Asian international tourism university to be established in Astana

In view of Arystanbek Mukhamediuly this measure is aimed at improvement of service standards and human resources.
As the head of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan announced the first international university of tourism and hospitality in Central Asia with a world-class diploma.

Speaking during the Governmental hour on September 24, 2018, Arystanbek Mukhamediuly told about the contribution of state tourism development program until 2023 to Kazakhstan’s tourism industry promotion.

Mukhamediuly noted that the country will work on the infrastructure development of the Tourist Map facilities. Their implementation, according to the minister, needs necessary about 1.5 trillion tenge, 30% of which are state and 70% private investments.

The minister believes Tourism Map facilities, with full funding and state support, are able to increase the number of domestic and incoming tourists is 4.2 times - from the current 3 to 13 million visitors per year, and create more than 60,000 new jobs and attract about 6 billion dollars of investment, which will provide a contribution to the GVA in the region of 6.5 billion dollars in year.

Herewith, in the direction of "Increasing the transport accessibility of tourist facilities and destinations," within the framework of the state program, mechanisms and measures will be developed and introduced: to increase the availability of air transportation; modernization and construction of highways to tourist destinations, the development of small aircraft, the introduction of open sky policies, the development of railway infrastructure, roadside service. In addition to the adoption of the country brand and its promotion, spot promotion of the Top-10 in the main markets.

The program proposes the improvement of the standards of service and staffing.

Thus, in accordance with instruction of the head of state and the best international experience (the Salzburg School of Tourism in Austria, the George Washington University in the United States, the educational institutions of the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, the Hong Kong Higher School of Tourism Management) first international university of tourism and hospitality in Central Asia with a world-class diploma will be established in Astana.

As the minister reported the implementation of the state program will allow reducing the gap between tourism in Kazakhstan from global and regional growth rates; increase tourism in the GDP structure from 1 to 8% by 2023; to ensure the growth of the number of employed in the tourist industry from 400 to 650 thousand people; external tourist flow from the current from 6.5 to 9 million visitors; the number of domestic tourists from the current 4.6 to 8 million; entry of Kazakhstan into 30 leading countries in tourism (WEF).
