27 session of CIS Council of heads of security services and special services held in Aktau

The 27th session of CIS heads of security services and special services of the CIS member states took place on September 23 - 25, 2009 in Aktau. The head of KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Amangeldy Shabdarbayev, started the work of the session, the agency reports citing KNB press service.

Astana. September 25. Kazakhstan Today - The 27th session of CIS heads of security services and special services of the CIS member states took place on September 23 - 25, 2009 in Aktau. The head of KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Amangeldy Shabdarbayev, started the work of the session, the agency reports citing KNB press service.

"In the atmosphere of trust, the forum participants, along with priority directions: struggle against terrorism and extremism, organized crime and drug business, also discussed a wide spectrum of important questions of increase of efficiency of information and practical cooperation of security services and special services in counteracting modern threats."

The session participants considered more than 20 questions, including improvement of the work of the CIS Antiterrorist Centre within the new concept of cooperation of special bodies in the sphere of information counteraction to terrorism and other violent forms of extremism and the course of realization by the council of some interstate programs.
