Almaty to host 63rd session of UNESCAP

Astana. May 7. Kazakhstan Today - Almaty will host the 63rd session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on May 17-23. The Kazakhstan MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed during the traditional briefing on Saturday.

"During the session the ministerial meeting of the UNESCAP member states, the sessions of the senior officials of the commission, the Asian-Pacific business forum, and the business exhibition For Competitive Kazakhstan will take place," Y. Ashikbayev said.

During the session the questions of UNESCAP reform, regulations of process of globalization, reduction of poverty, social issues and political problems of the region of the council will be discussed. According to the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 400 delegates will participate in the session including the prime ministers and ministers from 62 UNESCAP member states.
