Azerbaijan will execute one more obligation to European Council

Azerbaijan will execute one more obligation taken towards the European Council in autumn, approve the bill on alternative service at autumn session of the Parliament. The first vice Speaker of Azerbaijan Ziyafet Askerov informed at the press conference devoted to the results of the spring session of the Parliament, the agency reports referring to Information Agency Trend.

Almaty. July 11. Kazakhstan Today - Azerbaijan will execute one more obligation taken towards the European Council in autumn, approve the bill on alternative service at autumn session of the Parliament. The first vice Speaker of Azerbaijan Ziyafet Askerov informed at the press conference devoted to the results of the spring session of the Parliament, the agency reports referring to Information Agency Trend.

Azerbaijan became full member of European Council on January 7, 2001. To correspond to the standards of the European Council, Azerbaijan has incurred a number of obligations. Among them is acceptance of the bill on alternative service. In spite of the fact that acceptance of the law has been included in the agenda of the spring session, the project has not been brought for discussion.

Z. Askerov noted that the bill on alternative service has been sent to the European Council to receive a review and the experts of this organization have estimated the project. The response is being studied.

"Azerbaijan is in a condition of war and the bill on alternative service should correspond to the requirements of war. The Parliament holds meetings with other state bodies in regards to this law," the first vice Speaker said.
