Belarus suggests discussing question of oil duties at Customs Union Commission session

Belarus has suggested changing the agenda of the 14th session of the Customs Union Commission planned for February 26 and discuss the question of collection by Russia of customs duties concerning exported from the Russian Federation to Belarus mineral oil. The representative of the state administration of Belarus informed, the agency reports citing Belarus news agency BELTA.

Kazakhstan Today - Belarus has suggested changing the agenda of the 14th session of the Customs Union Commission planned for February 26 and discuss the question of collection by Russia of customs duties concerning exported from the Russian Federation to Belarus mineral oil. The representative of the state administration of Belarus informed, the agency reports citing Belarus news agency BELTA.

According to Belarus, application of this type of duties by Russia is infringement of the international obligations stipulated in the agreements, forming contract-legal base of the Customs Union.

In particular, it is related to the Customs Union agreements between the Russian Federation and Belorussia of January 6, 1995, which came into force on November 30, 1995), the Customs Union contracts and the uniform economic space of February 26, 1999 (on December 23, 1999), the contract on creation of the uniform customs territory and formation of the Customs Union of October 6, 2007 (on October 10, 2008).
