Bilateral cooperation to be discussed during Kazakh-Georgian consultations in Astana

The questions of bilateral cooperation were discussed during Kazakhstan-Georgian foreign ministry consultations in Astana. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, informed at Monday's briefing, the agency reports.

Astana. June 16. Kazakhstan Today - The questions of bilateral cooperation were discussed during Kazakhstan-Georgian foreign ministry consultations in Astana. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, informed at Monday's briefing, the agency reports.

"Kazakhstan-Georgian foreign ministry consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers for Foreign Affairs with participation of the representatives of the interested ministries and departments took place in Astana on Monday," Y. Ashikbayev informed.

Kazakhstan delegation at the negotiations was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Konstantin Zhigalov, and the Georgian delegation - by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Nalbandov.

According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, during the consultations the officials discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, and investment spheres. The participants of the consultations also discussed further mechanisms of cooperation between foreign policy departments," Y. Ashikbayev informed.

Kazakhstan and Georgia agreed that consultations will be held twice a year. The next consultations will take place in the autumn of 2009 in Georgia.
