CRRF CSTO exercises - stepwise event in CSTO development

The exercises of the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Interaction-2009 is a stepwise event in CSTO development, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

Almaty. October 16. Kazakhstan Today - The exercises of the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Interaction-2009 is a stepwise event in CSTO development, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

According to ITAR-TASS, D. Medvedev highly assessed Interaction-2009 exercises.

"It is a stepwise event in the CSTO development and our cooperation," D. Medvedev said.

The President of Russia called the reached level of cooperation a good example. "It is the response to the threats our states face, such as terrorism, drug trafficking, and religious radicalism. It is a new step towards creation of our response system to the modern threats from the Central Asian regions and other places. It will enrich the potential of the organization of our countries," the President of the Russian Federation said.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan said, "The exercises of Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization need to be held regularly."

The Presidents of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Leonid Maltsev, arrived in Almaty to participate in CRRF CSTO exercises.
