CSTO Assistant Secretary General Valery Semerikov stated at OSCE Annual Security Review Conference, the agency reports referring to CSTO Secretariat press service.

According to the press service, the most important objectives are "activization of joint efforts in counteraction to drug trafficking from Afghanistan, creation of security belt around this country, and ensuring boundary security in Central Asia." "Cooperation in this direction is quite in line with decision of Madrid OSCE session of Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs, CSTO Assistant Secretary General noted.

"In the context of these problems we need to solve the issue of professional training for boundary, customs and other antinarcotic services of Islamic Republic Afghanistan and strengthen and improve the system of protection of the border with Afghanistan," Valery Semerikov emphasized.

According to the press service of CSTO Secretariat, OSCE Annual Security Review Conference has been held since 2003. The conference serves to enhance the dialogue of OSCE participants on security, the platform for exchange of opinions concerning arms control, development of security measures and strengthening of cooperation between the leading regional organizations and structures.
