CSTO discussed creation of uniform system of technical protection of railways

Moscow. May 28. Kazakhstan Today - The topic of creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways was discussed at the meeting of Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports referring to the press service of CSTO secretariat.

The session participants discussed a package of documents prepared by Russian party, which includes the questions of formation of intergovernmental working group for implementation of measures, related to creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways of CSTO member states.

The package of documents includes the projects of decisions of CSTO Council of Defense Ministers and CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils on creation of the working group.

The intergovernmental working group is expected to be created guided by the necessity of organization of more efficient realization and coordination of measures on creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways of CSTO member states within the framework of the Agreement signed in April, 2003 by the leaders of CSTO states," the press service informs.

The group will be in charge of joint planning and organization of implementation in CSTO member states the measures on creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways at the coordinating role of Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.

The group will include representatives of ministries and departments of CSTO member states, having plenary powers on organization of measures of technical protection and restoration of railways within the framework of realization of Agreement on creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways of CSTO member states. Deputy Commander of Railways Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will head the group.

The package of documents was considered in all CSTO member states. The plenipotentiaries coordinated the projects of documents and made a decision to present them for consideration of the CSTO authorized bodies.
