CSTO experts discussed creation of unified visa and migration space

Consultations of experts of the Ministries for Foreign Affairs, migration departments, law-enforcement bodies and boundary services of CSTO member states concerning creation of the unified migration and visa space took place on Tuesday, the agency reports referring to the CSTO Secretariat press service.

Kazakhstan Today - Consultations of experts of the Ministries for Foreign Affairs, migration departments, law-enforcement bodies and boundary services of CSTO member states concerning creation of the unified migration and visa space took place on Tuesday, the agency reports referring to the CSTO Secretariat press service.

During consultations it was noted that it is necessary to counterac increasing challenges and threats, including transnational organized crime, terrorism, illegal circulation of drugs, illegal migration, cyber crimes for further development of interaction and cooperation of CSTO member states guaranting free and safe movement of people, goods and capital.

"During consultations at the first stage of the work the parties recognized the necessity to develop along with EurAsEC common approaches to formation of the coordinated visa policy and uniform migration space and interaction with the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to carry out the analysis of the normative-legal base in the sphere of travel of the citizens of CSTO member states in the CSTO zone," N. Bordyuzha noted.

The CSTO Secretary General emphasized that "it is not necessary to expect creation of the Eurasian Schengen in the near future as too many problems should be solved."
